Award-winning motivational speaker Jon Vroman returned to the Penn State Mont Alto campus on Aug. 22 to kick off New Student Welcome activities. Speaking to a crowd of about 500 in the Multipurpose Activities Center, he encouraged students to "live college life in the front row," asking them to step away from their comfort zones and push themselves to pursue what they believe to be important and meaningful in their lives.
More than 350 scholarship students and donors, as well as faculty, staff and friends of Penn State Mont Alto, attended the 21st annual Scholarship Ceremony in the Multipurpose Activities Center on Oct. 14. Throughout the evening, donors and scholarship recipients had the opportunity to meet while also hearing about the importance of receiving scholarships and the joy of giving.
Remaining true to its roots, on April 24 the Penn State Mont Alto campus will host its “Every Day is Arbor Day” spring event bringing students, faculty, staff and alumni together to plant trees and work in the Penn State Mont Alto Arboretum.
Penn State World Campus student Tyler Knabb of Reading will embark on a cycling journey Oct. 22 to raise funds for the 2014 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. His 920-mile, eight-day cycling trip is in memory of his mother and friend who lost their battles with cancer.
